Vietnamese Restaurant in Kensington

Alô Viet Kitchen

There is a relatively new Vietnamese restaurant in the Kensington area of Calgary that I highly recommend!

Ok, I’m sure if you know me, you know I love Vietnamese food. In fact my favourite restaurant in Calgary is another Vietnamese restaurant on 10th St NW, Pho Houz - which I would definitely recommend for their curry vegetable noodle soup!

However, they now have some pretty strong competition from this new restaurant Alô Viet Kitchen, located at 24 12 St NW (half a block south of Kensington Road). They have a large selection of dishes to choose from, and both my friend and I feel the food was super fresh and tasty. They opened about 6 months ago, but this was the first chance I’ve had to visit.

I had the Bun Classic bowl, with spring rolls and shrimp. It was a large serving (which I barely managed to finish) of noodles, fresh vegetables, well-grilled shrimp and some hot spring rolls. Honestly, I’ve just returned from Vietnam, and this was as good as the same dish I ate there. We washed the food down with a nice pot of Jasmine tea, just exactly what was needed on a cold October day.

It isn’t a large establishment, but clean and friendly, and the staff were lovely. Thanks for a great meal! I will be back frequently I’m sure!

Don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself!
